Preparing for Easter

Journeying with Jesus - We are running a Lent course based on the book 'Journeying with Jesus' by Fr. Denis McBride, a Redemptorist priest and scholar.  We begin in the wilderness, meet at a well, climb a mountain, walk with Him on the road, share a meal, and pick up the cross.  We  being on Ash Wednesday, March 5th at 6pm at Church of the Risen Lord, Castle Donington.  The journey then continues every Tuesday at 6pm until Easter.  A book that is designed to help us accompany the course will be available.

Creation of the new Parish of St Charles Borromeo, National Forest

Bishop Patrick has issued a decree creating the extinctive union (merger) of the Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes and St Charles Borromeo, Ashby-de-la-Zouch and the Parish of Our Lady of Mercy and St Philip Neri, Melbourne with Church of the Risen Lord, Castle Donington. The new parish created and erected will be named the Parish of Saint Charles Borromeo, National Forest. This new union will take effect from 14th February, 2024 which is ASH WEDNESDAY.

The Diocese have produced a leaflet on the Blessed Sacrament to help prepare us for the restoration of Communion under both kinds this coming Easter, and to provide us with some Lenten meditation. There is a link to the document here and copies available in the narthex of the churches
